Two Men Arrested After Report Of Dog Shot
On February 20, 2023, at approximately 4 pm, Manchester Police responded to the area of 436 Merrimack St. for an incident involving a firearm. The caller had reported that a male had shot at a dog and was walking toward Hall St.
Arriving officers spoke to a witness who stated that the suspect was standing near the passenger side window of an occupied car parked further down Merrimack St. As officers approached the suspect, he walked away, ignoring their orders to stop. The suspect then entered 421 Merrimack St.
Police set up a perimeter around the building, and the people inside were asked to come outside. Given the circumstances, the people were detained. One male was uncooperative and walked away. After a brief struggle with police, the male, identified as 29-year-old Ayden Rainey, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest.
Police located another male hiding inside a vacant second-floor apartment. The male was identified as 25-year-old Curtis Massey. Police also found a firearm near Massey. Massey was charged with Armed Career Criminal, Falsifying Evidence, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.
