Spring Cleaning Sale & Fundraiser at Studio 550 March 28-April 2

Studio 550 is hosting a spring cleaning sale from March 28-April 2 during open hours to Benefit the International Institute of New England (https://iine.org), the Clay for Kids Fund, and local makers.

Come find early Mother's Day Gifts, discount art, and support great local organizations and young makers at the same time! All pottery and stained glass work will be under $45, with most in the $1-20 range.

There are three elements to the sale:

Pottery for a Purpose Table:

The Studio 550 Community has been busy making mugs & bowls this past month! Each food-safe item will be sold for $20 a piece. Proceeds go to The International Institute of New England. This organization creates opportunities for refugees and immigrants to succeed through resettlement, education, career advancement, and pathways to citizenship.

Clay for Kids Scholarship Table:

Old abandoned workshop pottery is sold for $1 a piece to fund a scholarship for local youth to attend our after-school classes or creativity camps at a discounted rate. As a special deal to raise more funds (and clear out more pots) we are providing brown lunch bags. Fill one up with $1 pottery for $5! Donations are also welcome for the Clay for Kids Scholarship.

Studio Member & Staff Spring Cleaning Tables:

There are over 30 studio members here and they all work hard to develop their skills. At a certain point, a maker realizes the old stuff isn’t as good as the new stuff. Old designs, less than exciting glazes, small blemishes, and running out of room for storage are all reasons they are clearing out old pieces and selling it at a discount! Most work will be priced between $5 and $25. The Stained Glass teacher, Theresa Caulkins, will also have a table of discounted work available for sale.

The sale is live during normal studio open hours from 12-8 pm during the week in the east corner studio. Studio 550 is closed on Sunday and Wednesday and there will be no access to the sale room on those days. The handmade gift shop at the Studio entrance will also be open. It has other items like plants, knitted goods, charcuterie boards, jewelry, stickers and prints available.
