Man Arrested for Burglary and Assault in Londonderry
Londonderry - On Sunday, April 30, 2023 at approximately 6:10AM, Officers of the Londonderry Police Department responded to an address on Woodhenge Cr for a report of a burglary that had just occurred. While responding, officers were updated that the suspect was known to the residents at the address and that he had fled into the woods behind the residence.
Arriving officers set up a perimeter to contain the suspect while additional officers responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. According to the report, the male suspect entered the residence through a first-floor window and was attempting to find keys to take a vehicle without permission.
The report indicates that the male suspect got into an altercation with the male homeowner and a juvenile female who was at the residence. It is alleged that the suspect bound the female’s hands with tape and had a physical altercation with the male homeowner, resulting in the male homeowner having several minor injuries from a knife.
A Londonderry Police K9 unit was called to the scene to begin a track for the suspect, who was identified as Ryan Raiche, 40, of Portsmouth.
A short time after the initial call, Derry Police observed a male matching Raiche’s description walking near Scobie Pond Rd. The subject fled into the woods upon seeing the officer.
Londonderry officers responded to the area and the K9 unit began a track for the suspect. According to the report, the suspect was seen running through the woods a short distance ahead of the officers. The suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and ensuing struggle. The suspect was identified as Ryan Raiche.
Raiche was arrested and charged with Burglary (Class A Felony), Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon (Class B Felony), 3 counts of Second Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Class B Felony), Criminal Restraint (Class B Felony), 2 counts of Simple Assault ( Class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest/ Detention (Class A Misdemeanor).
Raiche was held without bail and arraigned on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 8:15 a.m. in the Rockingham County Court. Raiche was held without bail after his arraignment.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
