Man And Woman Arrested for Criminal Trespass
On October 6, 2023, at approximately 3:25 AM, Manchester Police responded to 287 Pearl Street for a potential burglary.
The caller told dispatch she saw two people enter the building, holding flashlights. The house was being renovated, and no one was supposed to be there.
Responding officers set up a perimeter and began making announcements ordering the pair to come outside. After making several announcements, a woman, identified as Emma Varley, 25 of Manchester (no set address) came outside.
Police continued to use the PA system, and shortly after 4 AM, a man was seen on the roof of the building. He identified himself as William Farnsworth, 30 of Manchester (no set address). Farnsworth refused to comply with the officer’s commands and returned to the building. Farnsworth came out about 20 minutes later and was taken into custody without further incident.
Farnsworth was charged with Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest. Earlier this year, Farnsworth was arrested on animal cruelty charges stemming from the death of a 5-month-old puppy.
Varley was charged with Criminal Trespass and also determined to have an outstanding electronic bench warrant.
Both are scheduled for arraignment in Manchester Circuit Court today (10/6/2023).
