The National Weather Service, Grey, ME has issued the following for the City of Manchester:

A Wind Advisory in effect from 1 AM Friday, December 23rd, 2022 to 2 AM Saturday, December 24th, 2022. Expect southeast winds between 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured items. Use extra caution and secure holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down and power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

A Flood Watch in effect from Friday morning through Saturday morning. This storm system is expected to spread rain northeast overnight and become heavy at times by Friday morning. By Friday afternoon, 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected. The heaviest rain will occur from late morning through early afternoon. Flash, urban, and small stream flooding is expected. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Expect widespread overland flooding that will cause major travel disruptions. Frozen ground and blocked drainage will exacerbate flooding conditions.

Overnight, Friday, December 23rd, 2022 expect very cold wind chills. These temperatures will persist through the weekend. For the most up-to-date forecast information visit www.weather.gov/gray.

The City of Manchester Fire Department, Division of Emergency Management has placed the City’s Emergency Operations Center into Enhanced Monitoring in anticipation of this storm.
