Woman Held After Alleged Arson At Orange Street Apartment Building
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Fire Department responded to 137 Orange Street at 6:33 a.m. Wednesday morning for a report of smoke in the building.
On arrival, they found a small fire on the porch and quickly extinguished the fire which caused minor damage.
Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene Manchester Fire Investigators were summoned to the scene as well as Manchester Police.
Manchester Fire investigators collected evidence and used a newly acquired accelerant detecting K9 at the scene.
Investigators used a saw to remove pieces of the porch where the fire was and placed items in evidence cans. The items will be sent to the NH State Crime Lab for further investigation.
Manchester Police arrested Rose DesFosses, 65 who is facing charges related to the alleged according to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel. DesFosses is charged with arson in an occupied structure and criminal mischief. She was ordered held on preventative detention while awaiting further court proceedings.
Desfosses is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections according to online records.
The booking photo provided by Manchester Police is from a previous arrest. She has previously been accused of criminal threatening and drug possession.
