Street Sweeping To Begin April 6th. City Advises Of Parking Restrictions
In an effort to keep Manchester clean, street sweeping will soon be taking place in multiple neighborhoods throughout the inner city. The Department of Public Works will begin street sweeping on April 6th. Sweeping will take place on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month. This will affect parking between 7 AM and 4 PM on those days. All vehicles will need to be parked on ONE side of the street on Wednesday, the following day they all need to be parked on the opposite side. Signs are posted on the streets to indicate when there is no parking. Those who do not park accordingly risk being ticketed or towed. The Department of Public Works and Manchester Police are providing a high level of education on this effort, including distributing flyers, use of social media, and traditional media to get the word out. The attached map shows the area that will be swept and Manchester Police and Public Works are working to notify all residents in these areas. While this may cause an inconvenience, it will ultimately help to beautify our city. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in this matter.
