One Year Old Hit By Car In Manchester

On May 21, 2022, at around 4:26pm, the Manchester Police Department responded to the area of Lake Avenue and Beacon Street for a report of a pedestrian versus motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, Manchester Police learned that a 17-month-old male exited the front yard of a Lake Avenue address and entered Lake Avenue, where he was hit by a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic traveling west on Lake Avenue. The child sustained potential serious bodily injury and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The operator of the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic was not injured.

Through the course of the on-scene investigation the operator of the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic, Michael Norton age 55 of Epping, NH was placed under arrest for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug, Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, and Falsifying Physical Evidence.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld at this time as it is an active investigation and a juvenile. The cause and totality of the crash are still under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit.
