NH Liquor Commission Raises Record $122K For NH Food Bank At Distiller’s Showcase

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) capped off its most successful Distiller’s Showcase of Premium Spirits by raising a record $122,000 in support of the New Hampshire Food Bank. The eighth annual Distiller’s Showcase featured more than 700 premium and ultra-premium spirits poured by world-renowned distillers and brand ambassadors, alongside delicious cuisine from New Hampshire’s best restaurants. The Distiller’s Showcase is the signature event of Distiller’s Week, a week-long series of events, seminars, in-store tastings, and bottle signings throughout the state.

“This year’s Distiller’s Showcase was a monumental success, and we are proud to have been able to raise over $122,000 for the New Hampshire Food Bank, which performs incredible work throughout our state delivering millions of pounds of food to those in need each year,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica. “We especially want to thank our broker, supplier, and restaurant partners who play an integral role in making the event the success that it has become. Their commitment, creativity, and support for our customers and important statewide causes like the New Hampshire Food Bank is greatly appreciated.”

The New Hampshire Food Bank, which serves as the only food bank in the state, works to provide nutritious food and resources to the thousands of New Hampshire residents who are food insecure, meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from. In 2021, the New Hampshire Food Bank distributed more than 17 million pounds of non-perishable food items, fresh produce, and meats to more than 400 nonprofit food agencies in all corners of New Hampshire.

“The funds we received from the Distiller’s Showcase of Premium Spirits have provided an immense impact on our efforts to support those who are food insecure throughout the state,” said Eileen Liponis, Executive Director, New Hampshire Food Bank. “We are incredibly grateful to NHLC for this partnership, and to all those who attended this exciting event, as the support from this event plays a major role in our ongoing fight to end hunger in New Hampshire.”

The Distiller’s Showcase took place Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown. Celebrities, distillery owners and brand ambassadors from across the spirits industry were featured throughout Distiller’s Week, including Ed Belfour, National Hockey League Hall of Famer and owner of Belfour Spirits, Graciela Gonzalez Cortez, Fourth Generation Distiller for El Mayor Tequila, and Ryan Christiansen of Caledonia Spirits, among many others, including local New Hampshire distillers.

In addition to the New Hampshire Food Bank, NHLC, in partnership with Chateau Ste Michelle and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, recently provided support to Veteran’s Count, the philanthropic arm of Easterseals Military & Veterans Services, which provides critical and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to service members, veterans, and their families to ensure their dignity, health, and overall well-being. A portion of each bottle of Chateau Ste Michelle sold at NH Liquor & Wine Outlets was donated to Veteran’s Count’s ‘United Support’ program, totaling $10,000.

In addition to the New Hampshire Food Bank, NHLC has worked with suppliers and brokers over the past six years to raise more than $3 million for nonprofit organizations making an impact in New Hampshire and beyond, including Easterseals New Hampshire, Best Buddies New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association, Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, and many others.
