NH Department Of Corrections Announces New Fugitive Of The Week Program

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is pleased to announce a new initiative: Fugitive of the Week.

The Department of Corrections, Division of Field Services provides supervision to individuals placed on probation, parole, and administrative home confinement. Probation Parole Officers attempt to assist supervisees in establishing law-abiding lives while monitoring their behavior through office, home, work, and other contacts. If a supervisee does not abide by the law and rules related to their probation or parole, they are no longer able to remain in the community.

When a supervisee absconds from supervision, the supervisee becomes a fugitive. By publishing the Fugitive of the Week, the Department is asking for the public’s assistance to locate these fugitives as quickly as possible. Each Wednesday, the Department will share information on a specific fugitive through various communications platforms. Sightings of fugitives should be reported to the Department of Corrections at 603-271-1804. Do not attempt to apprehend a fugitive yourself.

The Department intends to operate our Fugitive of the Week (FOW) program, in a similar fashion as the US Marshals FOW program which started in 2007. The US Marshals had great success with locating many of their fugitives, and we aim to do the same with our offenders through this initiative.
