Manchester Firefighters Extricate Victim Of Rollover Crash

Manchester Fire, AMR ambulance and Manchester Police responded to Salmon St and Union St for a rollover accident with entrapment on Friday at about 12:55 p.m.

When responders arrived they had one person trapped in the Honda SUV that had rolled over onto the passenger side. Rescue 1 utilized hydraulic cutting tools and spreaders to remove part of the vehicle so the patient could be safely removed. After about 20 minutes of extrication the patient was removed and transported with what appeared to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A second ambulance was called for the driver of the other vehicle who had what appeared to be minor injuries and was ambulatory at the scene. A total of three people were transported to the hospital according to Deputy Chief Ryan Cashin.

Initial investigation shows that one vehicle was traveling East on Salmon Street and collided with a vehicle traveling South on Union Street. The vehicle that rolled over struck a parked vehicle on Salmon Street that also was pushed into a fourth vehicle.

Three vehicles were towed from the scene and the streets in the area were closed for about one hour.

Manchester Police are investigating the accident.
