Driver Charged After Wrong-Way Crash

BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John J. Bryfonski and the Bedford Police Department report that a woman was charged after a crash Tuesday night on Boynton Street.

Aurora Gutierrez Ortiz, 30, of Manchester, faces the following charges:

Reckless Operation

Lack of Child Restraints (Two Counts)

Just before 8 p.m., 911 operators received a call of a crash between a Chevrolet Impala and a Ford Focus on Boynton Street, between Pauline Street and Woodbury Lane.

During the investigation, officers determined that the Impala, operated by Gutierrez Ortiz, was traveling on the wrong side of the road when it collided with the Focus.

Two juveniles in the back seat of the Impala were not wearing restraints. One juvenile received a laceration on the head. The other juvenile was transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester for observation.

A passenger in the Focus suffered a broken wrist and possible hip injury and was also transported to Elliot Hospital. The driver of the Focus reported no injuries but went to Elliot Hospital on their own.

Gutierrez Ortiz will be arraigned Aug. 1 at Merrimack District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
