Community Mural Festival Brings Color To Manchester

Manchester’s first community mural festival has been underway this week with murals popping up downtown around Pearl, Elm, and Bridge St.

The murals not only make Manchester brighter and more colorful, but it also continues fostering the focus on bringing arts back to the Manchester community. Additionally, research has shown that murals can significantly reduce graffiti in a community.

As the mural painting winds down today, Manchester locals will have a chance to celebrate and meet the artists at a Block Party on Saturday, August 20 from 11 am to 1 pm. The event will include face painting and kids activities as well and is located at 50 Bridge street, making it easy to view all the murals nearby.

The weeklong event and celebration were made possible through crowdfunding and a variety of art grants and it was organized by Arts Build Community (ABC), a New Hampshire-based group of artists, creators, and community leaders.
