Child Who Fell Out Of Window Dies From Injuries
MANCHESTER, NH - A child who fell from a third-floor window at an Elm Street apartment building has died according to information that Manchester Information has verified from an official police source.
When the original incident occurred information released indicated the child who fell from the window was 5 years old, however, Manchester Police indicate the child was 4 years old.
Tuesday, January 31st Manchester Fire, police, and AMR ambulance responded to 1436 Elm Street for a report of a child who fell to the ground from a third-story window Tuesday.
Responders arrived at the scene just before 2:30 p.m. and found a child five-year-old boy who was unresponsive, with head trauma. CPR was initiated by the responders and immediately transported to the Elliot Hospital. While en route the trauma team was activated and upon arrival, the child was given medical attention.
The boy has been flown to a Boston hospital, and despite medical treatment passed away from the injuries.
At 3:25 p.m. the same day as the 4-year-old falling from the window an AMR ambulance was dispatched to meet police at 1436 Elm Street for an infant who appeared to be dehydrated. The child was brought to the ambulance where responders provided medical care for about 20 minutes before transporting them to the Elliot Hospital. When the ambulance left the scene a police cruiser followed the ambulance to the hospital. It is unknown if this is related to the incident earlier in the afternoon.
In May a 3-year-old fell from a 3rd-floor window at 1458 which is just feet away from today’s incident and is in the same block.
Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
