Captured: July Fugitive Of The Week
The United States Marshals Service – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force is very pleased to announce the arrest this afternoon of “Fugitive of the Week,” Dwan Dominic Anderson in Concord.
Dwan Dominic Anderson, 34 years-of-age, who was last known to have ties to the Merrimack, Nashua and the Belknap County area had been featured as the US Marshal’s – New Hampshire “Fugitive of the Week” on July 13, 2022. Mr. Anderson was being sought on a parole violation warrant due to a prior conviction and sentence for witness tampering. Additionally, the Merrimack Police Department issued an arrest warrant charging Anderson with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, disobeying an officer, and driving after suspension or revocation. Anderson had been listed on the poster as being armed and dangerous based on information developed during the initial stages of this investigation.
As part of this feature as the “Fugitive of the Week,” Anderson had been aired on WTPL-FM, WNTK-FM, WTSN-FM, WEMJ-FM, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week” continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its creation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week” was distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers in New Hampshire.
Since July, several tips were received pointing to areas of Concord Heights and further east into Chichester. Today, due to the efforts by the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, Anderson was spotted as a passenger in a vehicle that stopped at a local store on Loudon Road in Concord. The task force took this opportunity to move in and safely arrest Mr. Anderson without incident. Behind Anderson’s seat in the vehicle, a BB gun resembling a Glock Handgun was located. Mr. Anderson was transported directly to the NH State Prison for Men in Concord, where he was booked and will be held pending his hearing in front of the Parole Board. The Merrimack Police Department will serve their arrest warrant on Anderson while he is in custody at the NH State Prison.
This arrest was made due to the cooperative efforts of several member agencies of the US Marshal’s – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force including the NH Department of Corrections – Probation & Parole Division, the Chichester, Concord, Greenfield and Merrimack Police Departments, the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office along with deputy US Marshals.
US Marshal Nick Willard said, "I am proud of the task force and the hard work they do every day to help keep our communities a little bit safer.” Willard continued, “Thankfully in this case, we are fortunate that Mr. Anderson did not pull out that realistic BB gun, as this arrest could have had a tragic outcome.”
Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,542 arrests (Updated as of 12/31/2021). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
