2 Injured In Accident With Entrapment At Valley and Wilson St.
Manchester Fire, Police, and AMR Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident at Wilson and Valley Street on Friday.
While en route they were advised there was one person pinned in a pick-up truck, and one other person with injuries.
The pick-up truck was wedged between a fire hydrant and pole, with the driver pinned. Firefighters could not remove the driver from the passenger's side due
to obstructions and her type of injuries.
Crews used a winch on Rescue 1 to pull the truck forward to gain access to the door. The door was damaged and would not open so the Jaws of Life were used to spread open the door, and the hinges were cut off.
The driver of the pick-up truck was assisted to a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. One other person was injured and transported by AMR to a local hospital.
The injuries to the people involved do not appear to be life-threatening.
The intersection was closed for about one hour while crews worked, police investigated, and the vehicles were towed.
