Manchester Police Investigate Several Fights, Shootings, In Downtown Manchester Near Local Bars In L

Manchester Police responded to several incidents Saturday night and Sunday morning involving fights, and gunfire.
Police were dispatched to the corner of Elm and Bridge Street for a person who fired a gun out the window of a car, striking another person who police said was seriously injured and is at the Catholic Medical Center.
Witnesses say a black vehicle was traveling West on Bridge Street when a gun was fired in the direction of other vehicles traveling West on Bridge. The suspect vehicle sped from the scene traveling north on Elm Street, turning East on Sagamore, and South on Chestnut Street.
The vehicle was described as a black Honda Accord and police were able to get information on the vehicle’s plate. Late Saturday evening towns surrounding Manchester put out a “be on the lookout” for a 2005 black Honda Accord, police were advised to stop and use caution.
Sunday Mornings at 12:30 a.m. police responded to the corner of Elm and Lowell Street for a fight outside of a bar. At 1:07 a.m. police responded to an assault outside of the U.S.A. Chicken at 990 Elm Street. Witnesses reported that a fight broke out between several people. At 1:10 a.m. police responded to a report of a fight at Spring and Elm Street in the same area of all the other incidents.
Police Manchester Police Officers responded to the sound of gunfire in the area of Concord St and Elm St at 1:11 a.m. Manchester Police Lt Matthew Barter said At the time, numerous officers, including dedicated foot patrol officers, were working to disperse a large and unruly crowd in the area of Elm St and Lowell St. Officers were working to break up several fights.
Officers immediately ran toward the sound of the gunfire and encountered numerous individuals fleeing the area. Responding officers were able to quickly learn that no one was injured and no property had been struck. According to initial reports, an occupant of a red sedan was firing rounds into the air while driving on Concord St. This vehicle was last seen south on Elm St.
Earlier in the evening, and unrelated to the violent events a pursuit of a stolen vehicle by New Hampshire State Police and Manchester Police ended at Valley and Elm St.
