Manchester Man Arrested After Threatening Woman With Hatchet
On May 25, 2022, at approximately 7:20 PM, Manchester Police responded to a Notre Dame Ave address for a report of a criminal threat.
Arriving officers learned that a man had threatened a woman he knew with a hatchet. The victim was able to leave the apartment, but it was reported that the suspect was still inside.
Police tried to make contact with the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Emir Velic of Manchester. Velic initially ignored their commands to come outside. Officers eventually entered the building, continuing to make commands, at which point Velic came out and was taken into custody without further incident.
Velic is charged with Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon and Resisting Arrest. It was also discovered that Velic had active bail conditions from 2021. He was also determined to be a convicted felon. In light of this information, Velic was additionally charged with Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Bail.
Velic was scheduled for arraignment today (5/26/22) in Hillsborough Superior Court North.
