Man Recently Arrested Faces Additional Charges

A 25-year-old city man arrested in connection with multiple recent crimes, is facing more charges.


On June 23, 2023, at approximately 9 PM, Manchester Police received a report that a man was in the parking lot of Kerners Carwash on Second Street yelling and waving a gun around.


Shortly after, another call came in that a man meeting the same description was behaving the same way at the 7-11 gas station at Bridge and Maple Streets. Police have identified the man as Sergio Torres of Manchester. Torres was booked in absentia, since he was already being held on other charges in relation to crimes that happened the previous day. He has been additionally charged with two counts of Reckless Conduct.


On June 22, 2023, Torres is believed to have pointed a gun at someone in a parking lot on Log Street. Hours later, he and another man reportedly assaulted a man and damaged his car at the Shell gas station at the corner of Blaine and Second Streets. For those crimes, Torres was charged with Reckless Conduct, Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault.


Police also learned that Torres had been in the company of a known felon with a gun. He was additionally charged with Criminal Liability to Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Criminal Liability to Reckless Conduct. That person (felon) was identified as Alex Wilks, 24, of Manchester. Wilks was arrested June 28, 2023 and faces charges of Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Reckless Conduct, as well as Simple Assault for his role in the Shell gas station incident.
