Man Arrested After Ripping Down LGBTQ Flag

Manchester Police have arrested 32-year-old Mason Case of Manchester in connection with ripping down an LGBTQ flag outside Kreiva Academy on Pine St.

On November 14, 2022, an employee from the Academy contacted Manchester Police after noticing the flag was missing. The employee told police she reviewed surveillance video and saw a man climb the fire escape, rip down the flag, and then throw it into a dumpster.

Through the investigation, police identified the individual as Case. A warrant was issued, and on December 3, 2022, Case was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief. He was released on PR bail and has a court date on January 6, 2023.

The Manchester Police Department has referred the incident to the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Unit and is working with them to determine what action may be warranted given the facts and circumstances presented.
