Man and Woman Arrested for Boat Theft
Manchester Police have arrested two people in connection with the theft of a boat and trailer.
On July 20, 2023, at approximately 8 PM, surveillance cameras captured a dark-colored SUV pulling into a parking lot on Blaine St and a man and woman getting out. The man gets in the driver’s seat, and the woman guides him back to a boat trailer with a 2003 18-foot Mariah motorboat on it. After the trailer is hitched to the SUV, they drive out of the lot.
Through the investigation, Andrew Dufresne, 51, and Julie Tomchak, 48, both of Manchester were identified as the people in the video. They were arrested and charged with 2 counts of Theft by Unauthorized Taking (felony). Tomchak was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
The boat and trailer were located and returned to the owner.
Dufresne was released on PR bail and will be arraigned on September 15, 2023. Tomchak was released on $1000 PR bail and has an arraignment on September 8, 2023.
