Fugitive of the Week in Custody

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces the arrest of former Fugitive of the Week, Katlyn Leigh Waninger. Waninger, 37, was wanted on a probation violation warrant stemming from underlying convictions of simple assault (NH RSA 631:2:A) and resisting arrest (NH RSA 642:2).

Waninger was featured as the Department’s Fugitive of the Week on September 27, 2023. Following this feature, the department received an anonymous tip that ultimately led to her being located in Berlin, New Hampshire. On September 28, 2023, Waninger was apprehended without incident, after one of the department’s Probation Parole Officers, accompanied by officers from the Berlin Police Department located her. Waninger posted bail and currently awaits a hearing date.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections thanks the Berlin Police Department and the public for their assistance with this case.

The Fugitive of the Week program was launched by the Department of Corrections in March of this year to encourage public assistance in locating individuals who have absconded from supervision. Each Wednesday, the Department shares information on a specific fugitive through various communications platforms, and with law enforcement through the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center.
