Arrest Made in Armed Carjacking

The Nashua Police Department arrested Barton A. Tibando, 53, of Nashua, New Hampshire for felony Armed Robbery (firearm).

On September 11, 2023, at around 1:15 pm, officers responded to 58 Temple Street for an armed robbery where the victim was threatened with a firearm. During the course of the robbery, a Chrysler Town and Country was stolen.

At the time of the robbery, the van was occupied by a 20-year-old female who was in the passenger seat. No injuries reported during the initial incident.

With the assistance of the Manchester, NH Police Department, the stolen vehicle was located in Manchester. After a pursuit in their jurisdiction, The Manchester Police arrested the operator, Barton Tibando.

Detectives furthered the investigation and determined Barton was the same individual who committed the armed robbery in Nashua. Barton was released on personal recognizance from Manchester and turned over to the Nashua Police, where he was charged with Armed Robbery (firearm).

Barton was held on preventative detention and will be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court – South on September 12, 2023.
